
Complaints Process
Christchurch Professional Dog Walkers Inc (CPDW Inc) is a not-for-profit incorporated society representing professional dog walkers and allied industry members. We are committed to fairness, professionalism, and canine welfare in our Christchurch dog walking services.
What We Can Consider
We may consider complaints relating to:
- The conduct of a CPDW Inc Member
- Alleged breaches of our Constitution, Code of Conduct, or dog walking standards
- Matters that may affect canine welfare, public safety, or the reputation of the profession
What We Cannot Do
CPDW Inc is not a regulatory or enforcement authority. We do not:
- Investigate criminal or civil matters
- Enforce council bylaws or legislation
- Act on behalf of Christchurch City Council or any other public body
Where appropriate, complainants may be referred to the relevant authority.
How to Submit a Complaint
All complaints must be submitted in writing and should include:
- Your name and contact details
- The name of the Member (if applicable)
- A brief description of the concern

Anonymous complaints may be considered at our discretion.
What Happens Next
Complaints are reviewed by the Society’s Officers in accordance with our Constitution and principles of natural justice. Members involved are given an opportunity to respond.
Outcomes
Possible outcomes may include no action, guidance, conditions on membership, suspension, or termination.
Confidentiality
Complaints are handled as confidentially as reasonably practicable.
